For this project, I was given a hypothetical brief to create a one-off piece and three batch products to sell to a client. The pieces had to be in the same unique style and to be made up to professional standards. As I am hugely inspired by immersive and psychological art, I wanted to create something which would impact people. I chose a spa/ mental health retreat as my client, I wanted to impact their visitors in a positive way. I was inspired by the calmness of water, and how its flows and sparkles in the sunlight. Studies have shown living the see improves well-being, blue symbolizes calm and relaxation. I wanted to emulate the flowing of water and enhance the light and reflection. I screen printed on float and water glass creating the blue and white patterns of water, after firing I slumped them over kiln pipes to create natural and smooth waves. I also created three batch pieces which are displayed as stands, these would be placed around the spa in locations like reception, dining rooms and lounges.
